The best F1 overtaking sequence

Post by GregR » Sun Feb 11, 2007 2:00 pm

In my mind anyway... Not one of those montages, just 1979, Rene Arnoux and Gilles Villeneuve. For others of the younger generation that may never have seen it, it's well worth a watch!

Top quality racing! If only we could see racing in F1 like that now.

That's fantastic! 8) They can't get anywhere near that close to each other in modern F1. Wish I could have seen stuff like that live, but might have been a bit of a problem as it was the year I was born!

Younger generation? From the old man of the group?

Excellent clip, nothing like that in F1 these days!

Fair comment Rob, should've said for the "younger, and non-F1 geeks in the group" :D

Top quality stuff. If you long to see stuff like this, give F1 a miss and try Champcars, IRL or A1GP. Much more passing in these series. Also try watching an oval at least once. They can run lap after lap 3 wide jockeying for position at nearly 200mph http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDZUfOfYsW4
and the drivers aren't bad looking either
