And it is Andy Gordon coming up strong from behind, he is trying to take Sarah Crowder from behind, oops looks like he went too soon, passed her now and it is poor Tess's turn hopefully he is a little more gentle with her as it is her first time.

the parts continue to rain in, and we are hopefully going for engine transplant some time over the weekend, which i@ll be missing due to a wedding!

Still after the amount consumed on the warm up for Tom's stag I suspect the success of the operation will be boosted by my absence......

Will be thinking about it while sitting in a church watching my cousin get hitched

Old engine is out (only one bolt required the drill, and Shug was happy to get the downpipe-to-manifold bolts ;-).

I whizzed over to Hoy motorsport to use the valve spring compressor to put in the VHPD springs (thanks to Dan for pointing out the standard springs wouldn't work before we tried to get 7,000 RPM :-)). The head is now back on the new engine, cams are in, timing belt and tensioner fitted. Need to recheck the cam timing as the new head and gasket will mean the timing will be slightly different.

Tomorrow (Sat) job is to transplant the alternator, cooling system, intake and exhaust manifolds, new flywheel, clutch and mate with the gearbox and starter. There are a couple of jobs on the car while the engine is out - remove the crap exhaust downpipe, replace the engine mounts, drill the mounts for the emerald, modify the airbox and remove the remnants of the old audio system.

Then I need to get the new engine onto the hoist and back into the car - but I think I'll be doing that on Sunday!

Any and all help welcome - 10:00 - 20:00 tomorrow and similar times on Sunday. If you want to come along to help give me a bell, 07973 391 393 ...

Cheers,
Robin

'Happy' is perhaps bending the truth a tad... Still - all done, I was happy when the last one snapped :)

Good laugh as always - although less chinwagging than the usual SE fare and more actual work getting done. A productive day all in :)

Plus, now I've seen it done, I've got more confidence to strip my old engine and get it running better than ever (in what, I have no idea!)

I'm looking to borrow the cam timing kit once it becomes free - Think it's bouncing somewhere between Robin & Lawrence's.

Providing it's ok with the owner can I get it once it's free?
